Bella Vista
Arts & Crafts Festival
Thursday - Friday, October 13-15, 2011
This community event would not be possible without the dedication of not only the Village Art Club members but more than 150 community volunteers as well. We always need generous people to join our fun team. If you could spare a couple of hours to help us support the arts in Northwest Arkansas, please let us know and we will match you up with a job that you will enjoy. By volunteering for the Festival, you support the city of Bella Vista as Festival weekend provides the largest economic impact our community experiences in the year. We promise you that you will meet wonderful people and have a great time! We provide training for all our volunteers, so, please don't hesitate to call or email us...
What kind of volunteer opportunities do we have? Here are just a few positions:
Ambassadors - The Bella Vista Festival is known as the "friendliest arts & crafts show in the country". That reputation is highly dependent upon our Ambassadors to our exhibitors. Each Ambassador is assigned a tent or area of exhibitors for about four hours during one of the three days of the festival. Their responsibilty is to check in with each of the exhibitors in their area to introduce themselves, see if they have any questions, or need help such as a 15 minute break for food or restroom. As many of our exhibitors handle their booths by themselves, this is a wonderful service that our Ambassadors provide. The exhibitors rely on their Ambassador to bring them pertinent information about the festival and important reminders that they need to know. You have the opportunity to really get to know your exhibitors and their products - it is a fun experience!
Information Tent - As our visitors come into the Festival, the Information Tent volunteers offer them programs listing all our exhibitors and answer questions they might have about the Festival. The Tent also has a wealth of documents offering people information about other shows in the area, restaurants, Bella Vista information, and NW Arkansas information. These volunteers have continual radio contact with the Festival Office for any concerns/questions that may arise. The Package Holding Area is also part of the Info Tent. Visitors can leave all their packages here while they enjoy burden-free shopping throughout their day.
General - Each year, about a week before the Festival, we actually move our office to the Festival grounds. It takes many volunteers to pack, move and set up the office at the site. After the Festival, we have to move in reverse back to office in Town Center. There are also multiple opportunities to help before, during and after the Festival with different outside and inside jobs. Office help, computer help (in the office or from your home), setting up the site, delivering ice to the vendors, taking packages from the vendors to the Package Holding Area, recording information before and during the Festival on the computer, recording and accepting applications and commissions, etc, etc, etc....
Just call us or email us and we will match your talents with an opportunity that will benefit the community, the arts, and the Festival.
